The Journey

Our training takes place at Casa Floresta, one of Present Practice’s most beloved retreat sanctuaries — a nature-immersed haven nestled on the sacred shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. Surrounded by ancient volcanoes and steeped in the mysticism of Mayan culture, this is a place to exhale, unwind, and come home to yourself.

Casa Floresta is more than a retreat center — it’s an ecosystem of healing. Days here flow with gentle rhythm: yin and meditation in the open-air yoga shala, fresh meals made with love, barefoot walks down to the water, starlit ceremonies, and the sacred silence in between.

This 6-night, 7-day immersion invites you into deep restoration and embodied presence. Through the healing modalities of yin yoga, restorative practices, Chinese Meridian Theory, meditation, nervous system science, and somatic awareness, you’ll explore the inner landscape of your body and mind — while being held by the beauty of the natural world.

This training includes ceremonial openings and closings, and is designed to be as nourishing as it is educational. It counts for 50 hours of Yoga Alliance continuing education, is bankable toward the Present Practice School of Yoga’s 300-hour advanced certification, and contributes to our 1000-hour master certification pathway.

You do not need to be a yoga teacher to attend. This training is open to anyone ready to deepen into yin, nervous system regulation, and the art of holding space — for themselves and for others. Whether you're a teacher, healer, space-holder, or seeker, this journey is for you.x
