Yoga Retreat: Space for joy
A 7-day retreat to reconnect with yourself and create space for what’s next
June 28 - July 4, 2026
the retreat:
Set on 275 acres of sun-soaked farmland along Portugal’s protected Atlantic coast, this 7-day retreat is an invitation to return to presence—and rediscover the joy in simply being. Here, among pine forests, ocean breezes, and long shared meals, you’ll be guided back to sukha—the “good space” where ease, intention, and clarity meet.
This isn’t a retreat about pushing or proving. It’s about making space: Space to listen. To move. To reflect. To reconnect with what matters most.
Through daily yoga, meditation, and self-inquiry—rooted in the Present Practice philosophy—you’ll explore the balance of sthira and sukha, effort and ease, doing and being. You’ll drop into stillness, move with purpose, and create rituals that feel like home. Our practices are designed not to escape life, but to return to it—more fully, more freely, more you.
Afternoons offer time to rest or explore: visit quiet beaches, bike the countryside, read under the olive trees, or sip coffee with new friends. We’ll gather each evening around nourishing farm-to-table meals, and close the week with a joyful wood-fired pizza night and spritz bar celebration under the stars.
By the end of this retreat, you’ll feel more grounded in who you are, more connected to your why, and more spacious in your heart and mind. This is your time to pause, to reflect, and to step forward with presence.
The Journey: Portugal’s Wild Coast
Tucked along Portugal’s southwest coast, between white-washed villages and the crashing waves of the Atlantic, lies Cocoon — a 275-acre coastal farm and retreat haven. Located in the Alentejo region, just a short drive from Vila Nova de Milfontes and Praia do Cavaleiro, this space feels both grounded and expansive — a true return to nature.
We’ll have the entire Cocoon property to ourselves, including two beautiful yoga shalas (one nestled beneath pine trees, the other light-filled and tiled in handmade Santa Catarina ceramics), hammocks strung between olive trees, peaceful walking trails, and visits from Cocoon’s charming animal friends — think peacocks, goats, and colorful chickens.
Each guest room is simple, comfortable, and surrounded by open space. With private, double, and triple occupancy options — most with ensuite bathrooms — you’ll have everything you need to rest and restore.
During the day, you’ll have the freedom to explore at your own pace:
Swim in the ocean just 10 minutes away.
Sip strong Portuguese coffee by the garden.
Bike to hidden picnic spots.
Or simply be still.
This is a retreat that invites slowness and spaciousness — and gives you the freedom to find your rhythm again.
What to Expect
Yoga & Self-Inquiry
Each morning begins with a grounding yoga practice, breathwork, and guided journaling — rooted in the Present Practice philosophy of presence, clarity, and intention. You’ll explore the balance of sthira and sukha (steadiness and ease), returning to your body and breath as anchors for self-awareness. Every other day includes a deeper workshop focused on ritual and intention-setting, yin and meditation, or heart-centered movement — designed to help you reconnect to your “why” and create space for what’s next.
Nature & Slow Living
Between practices, enjoy long, unstructured afternoons:
Lounge on quiet beaches just 10 minutes away
Take scenic bike rides or wander forested farm trails
Read under the olive trees or nap in a hammock
Visit local towns like Vila Nova de Milfontes for espresso and inspiration
This is a space to disconnect from distraction and reconnect to your own rhythm.
Farm-to-Table Meals
All meals are included and crafted from Cocoon’s garden or neighboring farms. Expect fresh fruit, ancient grains, seasonal vegetables, sustainable fish, and wood-fired pizza. Meals are shared and soulful — always nourishing, never restrictive. Dietary needs are happily accommodated.
The Energy
This retreat is equal parts sacred and celebratory. We’ll close the week with a joyful pizza night and spritz bar under the stars, soaking in connection and presence with your new retreat family.
You’ll leave with more clarity, deeper ease, and a spacious sense of home — in your body, your heart, and your path ahead.
