A Home for Deep Practice: Inside Our Costa Rica 200hr Teacher Training at Salvatierra

There are certain places that naturally invite you to slow down. Where the nervous system softens, the breath deepens, and presence feels effortless. Salvatierra is one of those special venues.

Located on the stunning Pacific coast of Costa Rica, our upcoming 200hr Teacher Training is happening at Salvatierra, a secluded beachfront sanctuary nestled in the surf town of Costa de Oro. This land holds a quiet power. Here, the ocean sets the rhythm of the day, the jungle hums with life, and nature becomes both teacher and companion.

This is not just a destination. It’s a container for transformation.

Why Costa Rica for Teacher Training

Costa Rica has long been a magnet for seekers, surfers, healers, and students of life. The phrase Pura Vida is woven into everyday culture here, not as a slogan, but as a way of being. It speaks to simplicity, presence, and a deep reverence for the natural world.

For a yoga teacher training, this environment matters. Stepping away from the noise and pace of daily life allows space for deeper listening. In Costa Rica, practice feels less like something you do and more like something you remember. At Salvatierra, the land supports this remembering.

The Salvatierra Experience

Salvatierra is a boutique retreat center designed with intention and ease. The yoga shala opens to jungle views, where sunlight filters through the trees and the sounds of birds and ocean weave into practice. A saltwater infinity pool overlooks the surf break below, offering moments of rest and reflection between sessions.

Rooms are thoughtfully designed with natural textures and curated details that invite deep rest. Meals are vibrant and nourishing, prepared with fresh local ingredients to support the body through long days of learning and integration.

Everything here is simple, beautiful, and purposeful.

A Day in the Life of Teacher Training at Salvatierra

Mornings begin early, often with the soft glow of sunrise over the ocean. You might start the day with quiet time, journaling or walking along the beach as the waves roll in. Some mornings invite an optional surf or self-practice before the group comes together.

We gather in the shala for morning vinyasa and group discussion, allowing the body to wake up and the breath to guide us inward. Brunch and free time follows, with the option of lounging or taking a dip in the ocean.

Midday we gather again for learning and connection. These afternoons might include teaching labs, group discussion, workshops or lectures. As the day winds down, we often return to the mat for practice teaching and feedback as the sun lowers and the air cools.

Evenings are unhurried. Dinner is shared, conversations linger, and the stars emerge overhead. Some nights are quiet and introspective. Others are filled with laughter, connection, and the kind of conversations that only happen when people feel safe, present, and deeply seen.

A Training That Is Also a Retreat

What makes this teacher training unique is that it truly is a training retreat. While the curriculum is thorough and comprehensive, the environment invites softness alongside discipline. Growth happens not just through study, but through rest, nature, and integration.

Every element of this experience is designed to support your learning while also honoring your humanity.

If you’ve been feeling called to deepen your practice, step into teaching, or simply immerse yourself fully in yoga, Salvatierra offers a powerful place to begin.

Our Costa Rica 200hr Teacher Training runs February 15 through March 1, 2026, and spaces are limited. If this land, this rhythm, and this journey speak to you, we would love to welcome you.
